Single-Tracks and Fairy Tail Castle
Southern Germany´s Mountain Biking and Cultural Delights
OPOLUM offers a journey of eleven days across South Germany to see the greatest highlights of the region: five days on the best single-tracks in Germany, a wonderful bike tour near the German-Austrian border, a visit of Castle Neuschwanstein, and concluding with the Oktoberfest in Munich.Around the German bike capital Fribourg, set at an altitude of 280 m in the Rhine valley at the border of the Black Forest, there are plenty of fine tracks to climb the surrounding mountains. The fact that the 1995 Mountain Bike World Championships took place in Kirchzarten near Freiburg testifies that the Black Forest is on a par with internationally acclaimed locations like Les Gets or Mount Whistler. But Freiburg is known for more than just biking: nice weather, a medieval Old Town, numerous cafes, pubs, and many cultural activities. After five days of biking pleasure we ride with our van along Lake Constance to the Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. There we take a last bike ride on an old hunter's trail to get to Tyrol in Austria. Before heading on to Munich we visit the stunning fairytale castle of King Ludwig II. of Bavaria. The trip will end at the world-famous Oktoberfest in Munich where we can clink glasses full of Bavarian beer.
