Across the Black Forest
Through the Country of Cuckoo Clocks
There is more to the Black Forest than Black Forest gateaus and cuckoo clocks. Its enormous network of tracks provides everything that makes a mountain biker happy: rampant ascents on forest tracks that are free of cars and downhills with never-ending single-tracks. OPOLUM has found a route, which combines hardly known tracks with the highlights of that mountain range in the Southwest of Germany. Lovers of single-tracks will rejoice. With an average of 1200 vertical meters and about 50 km per day, every trained biker will master this tour easily. The tour starts from the lowly situated spa resort of Baden-Baden to the altitudes of the Northern Black Forest. From here we will reach Mt Hornisgrinde which will offer the first views into the Rhine Valley with almost a thousand meters to the valley floor below and the French Vosges looming on the horizon. There are fast forest tracks leading across remote valleys with sights of classical old farms, followed by gorgeous single-tracks on remote summits. During the second half of the week we will pass Titisee and climb the 1493 meters of Mt Feldberg. The remaining part of the journey will be on wonderful single-tracks leading across vineyards, forests, and meadows eventually arriving at our destination, Basel, Switzerland.
